Leading research institution of legal profile in Ukraine

According to its Charter, the Institute carries out fundamental theoretical-methodological and applied research on current problems of state-legal construction in Ukraine; coordinates fundamental scientific developments of relevant problems; prepares highly qualified personnel — doctors and candidates of legal sciences; conducts scientific and scientific-practical conferences; publishes legal literature; provides expert and scientific advisory assistance to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and the Constitutional Court of Ukraine. bodies, judicial bodies, the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, other state authorities and local self-government bodies, citizens of Ukraine and foreign countries.

The priority areas of fundamental research of the Institute are:

• problems of state formation and law-making in Ukraine: theory, history, practice;
• legal problems of the democratization of social relations and the formation of civil society and the establishment and implementation of human rights and freedoms;
• theoretical and applied problems of the development of the legal system of Ukraine;
• theoretical and practical problems of implementing the Constitution and legislation of Ukraine;
• Ukraine in the system of modern international legal order and European integration: theory and practice;
• problems of encyclopedic legal studies, philosophy and sociology of law.

As of January 1, 2021, the Institute has 99 employees, including 81 scientists, namely: 27 doctors of science and 52 candidates of science. Among the scientists of the Institute are 1 academician and 1 corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; 15 academicians and corresponding members of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine; 8 Honored figures of science and technology of Ukraine; 13 Honored Lawyers of Ukraine; 8 Laureates of the State Prize of Ukraine.

Over the years of its activity, the Institute and its workforce have been awarded a number of state awards, awards of the President of Ukraine, prizes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine named after outstanding scientists.

According to the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 803 dated May 11, 1999, for active participation in law-making work, ensuring the development of legal science in Ukraine, training of scientific personnel, the team of the Institute of State and Law named after V. M. Koretsky of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was awarded With the certificate of honor of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with the presentation of a commemorative sign.

For a significant contribution to the implementation of fundamental theoretical-methodological and applied research on current problems of state formation. Training of highly qualified personnel — doctors and candidates of legal sciences, publication of scientific, popular scientific legal and political literature and cooperation with the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human and Citizen Rights, June 19, 2014, the team of the Institute of State and Law named after V.M. Koretskyi of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights.

For a significant contribution to the development of democracy, the establishment of the principles of the rule of law, the defense of the constitutional rights of citizens, and on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of its establishment, on May 12, 2014, the staff of the Institute of State and Law named after V.M. Koretskyi of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

According to the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dated May 8, 2019 No. 250-k, the staff of the Institute of State and Law named after V.M. Koretskyi of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was awarded the Diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for special services to the Ukrainian people.

For conscientious and fruitful work, a significant contribution to ensuring the development of legal science, high professionalism, significant work achievements and on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Institute's founding, the staff of the Institute of State and Law named after V. M. Koretsky of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine.
