BABASKIN Anatoliy Yuriyovych — Head of the Department of Civil and Legal Sciences, Senior Researcher, Doctor of Law, Professor of the Institute of State and Law named after V. M. Koretsky National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, senior researcher, doctor of legal sciences.

Born in a family of scientists. From 1985 to 1990, he studied at the Faculty of Law of Kyiv State University named after T. G. Shevchenko, upon completion of which he received a diploma with honors in the specialty «law», qualification — lawyer.

After graduation and until now works in the Department of Civil, Labor and Business Law Problems (formerly the Civil and Labor Law Department) of the Institute of State and Law named after V. M. Koretsky National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (AS of Ukrainian SSR): from September 1990 to December 1992 — as a research intern, from December 1992 to October 1999 — as a junior researcher, from October 1999 to December 2005 — as a research associate, from January 2005 to December 2019 — in the position of a senior researcher, from January 2020 until now — in the position of department head.

Degree candidate of legal sciences received after defending in 1996 in the specialized academic council at the Kyiv National University named after T.G. Shevchenko, majoring in labor law; the law of social security, a candidate's thesis on the topic: «Actual problems of legal regulation of employment of the population in Ukraine». The degree of doctor of legal sciences with a specialty in civil law and civil procedure; family law; international private law A.Yu. Babaskin was awarded protection in 2019 by the specialized academic council at the Institute of State and Law named after V. M. Koretsky of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine of the doctoral dissertation on the topic: «Credit relations in the civil law of Ukraine». In May 2013 by the decision of the Attestation Board of the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine, he was awarded the academic title of senior researcher, specializing in civil law and civil process; family law; international private law.

Scientific interests there are civil issues, banking law, etc.

During the period of scientific activity, he wrote about 100 scientific works, including individual monographs, sections and chapters in collective monographs, scientific and practical commentaries, textbooks, reference and encyclopedic publications, etc. Among the main works: the chapter «Bank as a’subject of banking activity» in the monograph «Subjects of civil law» (2009); chapter «Commercial credit in the civil law of Ukraine» in the monograph «Problems of civil legal relations in modern Ukraine» (2013); chapter «Problems of legal regulation of consumer credit in the context of the adoption of the legislation of Ukraine to the legislation of the European Union» in the monograph «Harmonization of civil and civil procedural legislation of Ukraine with the legislation of the European Union»: monograph (2018); «Credit relations in the civil law of Ukraine: a monograph» (2018); article «Legal Regulation of Interest Rates under the Loan Agreement, with the Participation of the Borrower — the Entity, under the Civil Law of Ukraine and Germany: A Comparative Characteristic» (in co-author.); chapter «Ensuring the fulfillment of obligations in the credit operations of banks under the conditions of the recodification of the Civil Code of Ukraine in the monograph» «Ensuring the fulfillment of obligations in the civil law of Ukraine: problems of theory and practice: monograph» (2023), etc.

Combining scientific activity with scientific and pedagogical, trained 4 candidates of legal sciences majoring in civil law and civil procedure; family law; international private law and 2 doctors of philosophy in the specialty 081 Law, who work in leading educational institutions, scientific institutions, state authorities.

The scientist was awarded with high awards, in particular: a special distinction of the Union of Lawyers of Ukraine for participation in the preparation of a collective monograph, the Yaroslav Mudry prize for the preparation and publication of textbooks for students of legal specialties of higher education institutions,Certificate of honor from the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Central Committee of Trade Unions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine for fruitful work, personal contribution to the development of fundamental and applied research of current problems of state and legal construction, training of highly qualified scientific personnel — lawyers, etc.
