PROTSENKO Iryna Mykolayivna — Senior Researcher, Department of International Law and Law of the European Union, Candidate of Law.
In 1999, she graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law of Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv and in the same year began working in the department: as a research intern (since July 1999), junior research associate (since 2001), and research associate (since 2016). In 2005, she completed a research internship at the Institute of Law of Eastern European Countries at the Christian-Albrecht University of Kiel.
In 2016, she received the degree of Candidate of Law, defending her dissertation on the topic: «Private-Law Principles of Regulation of Trade Relations in Germany» (scientific supervisor — Professor V.N. Denisov).
She has published more than 250 scientific papers. Under her scientific supervision, two candidates for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy were prepared for the defense of their theses.
In addition, she was a member of the team of translators from German of V.M. Koretsky's scientific article «Problems of International Trade Law in Soviet Law» (published in 3 volumes of selected works of V.M. Koretsky); she was the editor of the materials of the conference «International Legal Order: Modern Problems and Their Solutions. To the 125th Anniversary of the Birth of Volodymyr Mykhailovych Koretsky" (Kyiv, 2015), the textbook "The Law of International Organizations and Ukraine: in Schemes and Tables" (Kyiv, 2014), the "Small Encyclopedia of International Law" (Kyiv, 2013). She was a member of the editorial board of volumes 2 and 3 of the Encyclopedia of International Law. She is a member of the Ukrainian Association of International Law.
She taught the academic discipline "Private International Law" at the Kyiv University of Law of the NAS of Ukraine (from 2001 to 2022) and at the State University of Trade and Economics (from 2020 to the present).
Research interests: private international law, German commercial law, international economic law.
