born June 4, 1980, p. Popovichi Mostysky district, Lviv region.

KUKURUZ Oksana Volodymyrivna – Head of the Sector of Legal Problems of Political Science, Doctor of Political Sciences.

She graduated from the National Pedagogical University named after M. P. Drahomanova with a specialty of «political science» (2002, diploma with honors).

In 2008, she defended her thesis for the degree of candidate of political sciences on the topic: «Political opposition in Ukraine and the Republic of Poland in conditions of democratic transformation: a comparative analysis» (specialty 23.00.02 — political institutions and processes). In 2021 defended a thesis for the degree of Doctor of Political Sciences on the topic: «Interaction of politics and law in the process of social transformation in Ukraine and the Republic of Poland» (specialty 23.00.02 — political institutions and processes).

Main areas of scientific research — political opposition, the formation of a parliamentary coalition, the influence of the electoral system on the party system, the institute of citizen appeals, the institute of scientific consulting of public authorities, strategic priorities of migration policy, parliamentary reform, the influence of politics on law-making and the implementation of law in Ukraine and the Republic of Poland.

Co-author of the textbook «Applied political science» (2008) and the textbook «Legal political science». Academic Course» (2021); compiler of the bio-bibliographic edition «Gorbatenko Volodymyr Pavlovich: to the 60th anniversary of his birth and 30 years of scientific and pedagogical activity» (2017).

She took part in the preparation of the «Legal Encyclopedia», «Anthology of Ukrainian Legal Thought», «Great Encyclopedic Legal Dictionary», «Encyclopedia of International Law», «Political Dictionary».

In 2013, she graduated from the Eastern Summer School of the Center for East European Studies of the University of Warsaw. In 2014–2015, she was on a research internship at the Center for East European Studies of the University of Warsaw within the framework of the Krzysztof Skubiszewski grant.

She was an expert of the Working Group of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on drafting a draft law on the parliamentary opposition. Member of the specialized academic council for awarding the scientific degree of Doctor of Sciences D 26.236.01 at the Institute of State and Law named after V.M. Koretsky National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Member of the editorial board of the Polish magazine «Studia Politologiczne». Member of the editorial board of the scientific publication «Socio-political processes».
