born May 26, 1955, village of Stara Huta, Seredino-Bud district, Sumy region

KOVALENKO Anatolii Andriyovych  – Doctor of Political Sciences (2003), Professor (2004), Academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Political Sciences. 

He graduated from the Kyiv Institute of Civil Engineering with a degree in «Civil Engineer» (1977, diploma with honors).

In 1997, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Law «Constitutional and Legal Regulation of Local Self-Government in Ukraine: Issues of Theory and Practice» (specialty 12.00.02 — constitutional law). In 2003, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Political Sciences «Establishment and Development of the Executive Power in Ukraine» (specialty 23.00.02 — political institutions and processes).

Main areas of scientific research — state building, development of local self-government, legal foundations of state power in Ukraine.

Published over 100 scientific works, including:
