The collection of scientific works on legal and political sciences "State and Law" was founded by the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine in 1997.

In 2003, it was registered by the State Committee for Information Policy, Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine.

The collection was re-registered in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine in 2019.

In accordance with Appendix 1 to the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated March 17, 2020 No. 409 "List of printed periodicals included in the List of scientific professional publications of Ukraine", the collection "State and Law" is included in the category "B" of scientific professional publications of Ukraine in legal and political specialties — 052, 081. 

The collection is indexed in the international scientometric database Index Copernicus International (Warsaw, Poland).

The main purpose of the publication is to publish the results of the latest scientific research in legal and political sciences.

The collection highlights current issues in the theory and history of state and law, comparative law, public administration, administrative, constitutional, international, civil, labor, agrarian, criminal, space and other branches of law.

The problems of modern political science are revealed in sections on the theory and methodology of political science research, history of political thought, international, comparative and applied political science, political institutions and processes, ethnopolitical science, public administration.

The collection publishes reviews of monographs, scientific collections, other publications legal and political science topics, as well as materials covering events in scientific life in Ukraine and abroad.

The publication is intended for scientists, teachers, postgraduates and students, all who seek to obtain legal and political knowledge of a theoretical and applied nature.

Articles are published in Ukrainian, Russian and English.

The authors of scientific articles are well-known Ukrainian and foreign scientists, state and public figures, politicians, judges, law enforcement officers, young scientists, doctoral and postgraduate students of scientific institutions and higher education institutions.

Periodicity of publication: until 2019 — quarterly, from 2020 — monthly twice a year.
