TARAKHONYCH Tetyana Ivanivna — theorist of state and law. Candidate of Law (1995), senior research fellow (2003), associate professor (2004).

She has been working at the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine since 1993. During this time, she held positions from junior research associate to senior research associate in the Department of Theory of State and Law of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine. Dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Legal Sciences on the topic: «Civil society: essence and development trends (comparative legal aspects)».

Awarded academic title: Senior Research Fellow (December 2003) in the specialty "Theory and History of State and Law; History of Political and Legal Doctrines"); Associate Professor (Department of Theory of State and Law) (2004).

The sphere of her scientific interest is the problems of improving the legal system, the implementation of human and citizen rights and freedoms in Ukraine, the rule of law, comparative jurisprudence, the institution of legal responsibility, civil society, systematization of legislation, legality, legislative process, legal understanding, principles of law, legal regulation and its mechanism, legal doctrine, law formation and lawmaking, etc.

He is the author of many articles in the «Legal Encyclopedia», «International Police Encyclopedia», «Great Encyclopedic Legal Dictionary» and «Anthology of Ukrainian Legal Thought», «Small Encyclopedia of the Theory of State and Law».

The range of scientific developments is wide, in particular, it is engaged in scientific research into the problems of the theory of state and law. Significant attention is paid to the development of such problematic issues as: civil society, systematization of legislation, legality, legislative process, legal regulation and its mechanism, etc.

She is actively involved in the training of scientific personnel — under her supervision, 5 candidate theses were defended, she provides scientific supervision to 2 postgraduate students and applicants. She gave a course of lectures for postgraduate students and conducted practical classes in the discipline "Methodology, organization and technology of scientific research". She taught a course of lectures on the theory of state and law at the Kyiv University of Law of the NAS of Ukraine and the Institute of Postgraduate Education of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. She was the scientific secretary of the specialized academic council D 26.236.03 from 2006 to 2022.

Awarded the badge of «Excellent Educationist of Ukraine» (2004); Diploma of Honor of the Ministry of Ukraine for Family, Youth and Sports for conscientious and fruitful work and significant contribution to the implementation of state policy, dedication to the cause and on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine (2007); awarded the Yaroslav the Wise Prize for outstanding achievements in scientific research on legal issues (2007); awarded the Diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for services to the Ukrainian people (2009); awarded the Diploma of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine for significant personal contribution to the development of legal science and education, active participation in legislative work, training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel of Higher Qualification of Ukraine and on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine (2009), Yaroslav the Wise Award for outstanding achievements in scientific research activities on problems of jurisprudence (2014).
