MUSYKA Anatolii Ananiyovych — leading researcher of the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology, Doctor of Law, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine.

In 1977, he graduated from the Law Faculty of the T. G. Shevchenko Kyiv State University (now Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University) with a degree in «law». From 1980 to 1983, he studied at the adjunct faculty of the F. E. Dzerzhinsky Kyiv Higher School of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs (now the National Academy of Internal Affairs).

From 1974 to 1980 — investigator, senior investigator of the Shevchenkivskyi district department of internal affairs of Kyiv. From 1984 to 1990 he worked as a lecturer, senior lecturer of the Department of Criminal Law of the Kyiv Higher School of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs named after F. E. Dzerzhinsky. During 1991—2000. was engaged in legal activities. From 1998 to 2000 — senior researcher at the Institute of State and Law named after  V. M. Koretsky of the NAS of Ukraine. From August 2000 to June 2001 — head of the Department of Criminal Law Disciplines of the Kyiv Institute of Internal Affairs. From June 2001 to March 2003 — Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the same institute. From March to June 2003 — Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. From June 2003 to April 2006 — Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the Kyiv Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. During 2006—2007, he held the position of Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology of the Educational and Scientific Institute for Training Personnel for Public Security and Psychological Service of the Kyiv National University of Internal Affairs.During February 2007 — March 2008 - Chief Researcher of the State Research Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. From April to October 2008, he worked as Deputy Head of the Main Service for Law Enforcement Activities of the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine. From March 2009 to October 2011, RFK held the position of Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the State Research Institute of Customs Affairs. From December 2012 to August 2013 — Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Forensics of the Faculty of Law of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. From September 2013 to August 2014 — Professor of the Department of Public Law, Faculty of Law, Ternopil National Economic University. Since 2014, he has held the position of Leading Researcher of the Research Laboratory of Criminological Research and Crime Prevention Problems of the State Research Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (part-time). From December 3 2024 — Leading Researcher of the Department of Criminal Law, Criminology and Judicial System

 In 1984 he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Law on the topic: «Coercive treatment as a criminal-legal measure to combat drug addiction (based on the materials of the Ukrainian SSR)» (specialty 12.00.08).

In 1998, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Law on the topic: «Illegal Trafficking in Narcotics in Ukraine (Criminal Law and Criminological Research)» (specialty 12.00.08).

The academic title of associate professor was awarded in 2002 ; the academic title of professor was awarded in 2002. 

In 2017 he was elected corresponding member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine.

Main areas of scientific activity  —– methodological problems of criminal law; criminal legal risks; problems of Ukrainian criminal legal policy, criminal liability for crimes related to narcotics, for «computer» crimes, as well as institutions and theoretical problems of criminal law (in particular, punishment and its application, amnesty and pardon, compulsory treatment, subject of the crime, place of commission of the crime, causality in jurisprudence).

During 1998—2004, he actively participated in the preparation of the six-volume edition of «Legal Encyclopedia» (V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine) — he was a member of the editorial board of individual volumes, a scientific consultant and reviewer, the author of many articles, and coordinated the work on writing articles for the encyclopedia on criminal, criminal procedural law, criminology, and forensics.Scientific consultant and reviewer of the work «Great Encyclopedic Legal Dictionary» (2007), as well as the author of a number of articles for it, in particular — for the second edition of the said dictionary (2012).

 Member of the Specialized Academic Council D 26.236.02 at the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine.

During 2011—2016 — member of the Scientific Advisory Council under the Supreme Court of Ukraine.

Since December 30 2021 — member of the Scientific Advisory Council under the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (head of the Working Group on Criminal Legislation. Criminal Procedural Legislation»).

Prepared 3 doctors and 16 candidates of law (specialty 12.00.08 «Criminal law and criminology; criminal enforcement law»).
