On April 4, 2025, the General Meeting of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine (NAES) was held, at which the «Report on the Activities of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine in 2024 and Tasks for 2025» was heard.

The report was delivered by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Vasyl Kremen.

The meeting of the General Assembly of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was attended by the Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Honorary Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Oleksandr Skrypnyuk. At the beginning of his report, Oleksandr Skrypnyuk noted that he listened with pleasure to the report of the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Vasyl Kremen. Despite martial law and certain restrictions, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine has done a lot for the development of education and pedagogical science. Olexander Skrypnyuk voiced problems that cannot but affect the development of science and education. In particular, the threat of removing the study of the history of Ukraine from the school curriculum. He also drew attention to the still existing problem in academic historical science and the science of the history of state and law, where the imperial and Soviet scheme of covering the history of our state has not yet been completely overcome.

The scientist focused on the need to deepen the work on legal education and legal upbringing. Today, martial law restricts human rights and freedoms. Moreover, new laws and acts are being adopted that contradict each other, and often contradict the Constitution of Ukraine. And here the question arises: «how far are we moving towards the ideal of a democratic, legal, social state»?!

«Therefore, the task of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine and the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, — noted Olexandr Skrypnyuk, — is to consolidate their efforts to ensure the development of legal education and legal science. Without this, it is impossible to make fundamental changes in law, in building a democratic, social state. Today, a program of joint actions has been signed between the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine and the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, which is being successfully implemented between the institutes. But in this regard, of course, a lot more effort needs to be made to make the plans a reality… The National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine and the V.M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law, which I head, are also participating in this process», — emphasized Oleksandr Vasylyovych.

All the achievements made by the scientists of the academy and the scientists of the academy and the teams of the institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the previous year, 2024, were discussed, and the tasks that need to be focused on in 2025 were identified.
