Round table "Ukrainian statehood as a scientific category: concepts and discussions"
On July 22, 2025, at the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine, on the basis of the Department of Historical and Legal Research, with the support of the International Association of Legal Historians, a Round Table was held «Ukrainian Statehood as a Scientific Category: Concepts and Discussions».
The following reports were presented for discussion: Ihor Usenko, Head of the Department of Historical and Legal Studies of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine «Ukrainian Statehood: Toward a Discussion of the Concept and Some Characteristics»; Tetyana Bondaruk, Senior Research Fellow of the Department of Historical and Legal Studies of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Law, Senior Research Fellow of «On the Question of the Scheme of the History of Ukrainian Statehood»; Evgeny Rominsky, research fellow at the Department of Historical and Legal Studies of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine «The Problem of Statehood of Early Proto-State Formations»; Svitlana Bobrovnyk, Professor of the Department of Theory and History of Law and State of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine «History of Ukrainian Statehood through the Prism of State Law»; Anastasia Ivanova, Senior Research Fellow of the Department of Historical and Legal Studies of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine, Candidate of Law, Senior Research Fellow «Constitutional Dimension of the Proclamation of Statehood of Ukraine and Lithuania in 1917-1918: Comparative Analysis».
The discussion was attended by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of History and Archaeology of the Bohdan Khmelnytsky Melitopol State Pedagogical University Olexander Sytnyk; Candidate of Legal Sciences, Senior Researcher of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine Mykola Siryi; Candidate of Law, Senior Researcher at the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine Iryna Muzyka.
In the reports and speeches of the participants of the event, attention was drawn to a number of aspects related to the phenomena of Ukrainian statehood, state, law, civilizational and cultural development of society, the Ukrainian grand narrative, etc. A fruitful discussion took place within the framework of the discussion.
