Briefing: history of success, current achievements and prospects for development

On October 4, 2024, Ukrinform (Kyiv) held a scientific briefing dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Institute of State and Law named after V.M. Koretsky of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The topic of the briefing is "75 years of the Institute of State and Law named after V.M. Koretsky National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine: history of success, modern achievements and development prospects».

The director of the Institute of State and Law named after V.M. opened the briefing. Koretskyi of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, vice-president of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine O.V. Skrypniuk. In his speech O.V. Skrypniuk congratulated the participants of the event and announced the main historical origins of the Institute, which date back to 1949. «This year the Institute celebrates its 75th anniversary. These are four generations of scientists who devotedly worked for national legal science, gave their talent, effort, abilities and knowledge. The achievements of the institute are widely known in Ukraine and abroad. For decades, it has been called the vanguard and flagship of Ukrainian legal science,», — noted Oleksandr Skrypnyuk.

Oleksandr Skrypniuk emphasized the important role of Volodymyr Koretskyi in the establishment of the Institute. With the name of an outstanding Ukrainian jurist, a specialist in international law, international private law and the history of the state and law, one of the developers of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948, the formation of domestic jurisprudence is largely connected with the judge of the International Court of the United Nations Volodymyr Mykhailovych Koretskyi. He was the initiator of the creation and the first director of the Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Bandurka, the first vice-president of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, an academician, an outstanding state builder, noted in his speech that the Institute has an interesting and rich history. According to the academician, the Institute can be characterized by three features. This is primarily a constellation of scientists who worked both before and now. These are really outstanding scientists. The second — this is the history of Ukrainian legal science. Modernity and future — development of modern legal foundations.

Rector of the National School of Judges of Ukraine, doctor of legal sciences, professor Mykola Onishchuk noted that today we can celebrate both achievements and tasks and prospects. The speaker noted the contribution of the Institute of State and Law to state formation. "Indeed, the Institute's contribution to fundamental legal research is absolute in the sense that there is no institution in our country that who, according to her abilities and scientific potential, could carry out such a volume of research and process so many scientific and practical materials», — stressed Mykola Vasyliovych.

Mamutova of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine», corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Volodymyr Ustymenko noted that the Institute of State and Law named after V.M. Koretsky gives direction in legal science, in understanding the essence of the state and law.The speaker focused on common issues with the Institute of the State and the Right to Work, in particular — creation of innovation clusters in the NASU system. "We can see the result everywhere, in particular — on the battlefield using the latest samples of domestic weapons. When our country is not given the opportunity to hit the rear of the aggressor country with Western weapons, our domestic developments do it», — stressed Volodymyr Anatoliyovych.

Deputy Director of the Institute of State and Law named after V.M. Academician Natalia Onishchenko of the Koretsky National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine noted the intensive work of the scientific institution in the field of veteran policy. "We head the relevant council at the Ministry of Veterans Affairs. Veteran policy — this is a structural part, this is a segment of state policy», — Nataliya Mykolaivna emphasized.

The Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine has its origins in the Institute of State and Law named after V.M. Koretsky, — this was noted by the rector of the Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, professor Yuriy Boshytskyi.

Mykola Velichkovich, People's Deputy of Ukraine, in his speech emphasized the role of the Institute of State and Law named after V.M. Koretsky in the legislative process in Ukraine.
