SKRIPNYUK Oleksandr Vasylyovych — Head of the Department of Interdisciplinary and Comparative Legal Studies, Director of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine.

Ukrainian jurist, specialist in the field of constitutional law, theory of state and law, public administration. Doctor of Law (1996), Professor (1996), Full Member (Academician) of the National Academy of Legal Sciences (2004), Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine (1999).

He received his higher education at the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv State University, majoring in History (1986) and at the I. I. Mechnikov Odessa State University, majoring in Jurisprudence (1995). He interned at the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis, USA) in the specialty «public administration» (2000).

In 1991, after completing postgraduate studies at Kyiv University, he defended his candidate's thesis in historical sciences. In 1996, he defended his doctoral thesis in legal sciences on the topic: «Development of the Ukrainian state at the present stage: political and legal analysis». Since 1992, he worked as the deputy head of the center at the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, since September 1992 — the head of the department, deputy head of the department, head of the department of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, since 2004 — the head of the department for relations with state bodies and international organizations of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine. From 1992 to 2016, he worked part-time as an associate professor, professor at the Institute of International Relations of the Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko, Head of the Department of State and Law Disciplines, Department of Constitutional Law of the National University "Ostroh Academy", Head of the Department of Legal Theory of the Institute of Private Law and Entrepreneurship named after F. G. Burchak of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Since 2002 — Senior and Leading Research Fellow of the Institute of State and Law named after V. M. Koretsky of the NAS of Ukraine, since March 2016 — on a permanent basis — Deputy Director of the Institute.

Published over 450 scientific works. He is the author/co-author of about 60 monographs. The most important of which are:

Conducts active scientific, expert, and public activities. Participant in the constitutional process in Ukraine. He was the scientific supervisor of many domestic and international scientific projects with the USA, England, France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Sweden and other countries. Under his leadership, about 40 doctoral and candidate theses were defended.

Elected academician of the Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine. He is a member of the editorial boards of leading scientific legal publications of Ukraine. Honored Lawyer of Ukraine (1997). Laureate of the M. P. Vasylenko Prize of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (2002), Yaroslav the Wise Prize (2010) and Volodymyr the Great Prize (2014). He has a number of state, departmental, church, and public awards and distinctions.
