On May 19, 2026, a meeting of the Academic Council of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine was held, which was opened by the Director of the Institute, Doctor of Law, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Olexandr Skrypnyuk.

Opening the meeting, Olexandr Skrypnyuk read a congratulatory letter from President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Volodymyr Zhuravly on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the Institute's founding.

Scientists of the Institute took a direct part in the preparation of legislative acts that became decisive for the formation of modern Ukrainian statehood and the development of the constitutional system. Fundamental scientific works prepared by the Institute's scientists rightfully constitute a significant part of the intellectual heritage of Ukrainian legal science. Today, in the conditions of a full-scale war and complex challenges facing Ukraine, the Institute's staff continues to work selflessly on the scientific support of state-building processes, legal support for European integration, protection of human rights and affirmation of the international legal responsibility of the aggressor state, – it was stated in the welcoming speech.

Oleksandr Skrypnyuk also congratulated the winners and nominees of the IV International Competition of Scientific and Educational Publications on Law, Security and European Integration «Yurydika», among the laureates — scientists of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine. In the nomination «Collective scientific monograph on public law», the first place was taken by the monograph «Constitutional-legal and theoretical principles of the modernization of Ukrainian parliamentarism in the conditions of the implementation of the European choice». In the nomination «Reference publications on security (encyclopedias, dictionaries, reference books)», the first place was taken by the publication «International security, national security of Ukraine, human security: problems of ensuring in the conditions of countering Russian aggression: a bibliographical reference book». In the nomination «Individual scientific monograph on public law», the first place was awarded to the publication «The judicial system of the African Union: monograph». In the nomination «Single scientific monograph on European integration», the second place was won by the publication «Effectiveness of legislation and international standards of lawmaking».

The main part of the meeting of the Academic Council was devoted to considering the issue of approving scientific and research topics. The topic «Trends in the development of the law of international responsibility», which will be carried out by the Department of International Law and Law of the European Union, was presented by Nataliya Onishchenko, Doctor of Law, Professor. The topic «Constitutional and legal ensuring of national security of Ukraine in the conditions of modern challenges», which will be carried out by the Department of Constitutional and Municipal Law, was presented by Angelika Krusyan, Doctor of Law, Professor. Iryna Muzyka, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor, reported on the topic «Statehood in the Ukrainian Historical and Legal Process», which will be implemented by the Department of History of State and Law. «Transformation of Political Regimes: Current Trends and Prospects», — such a topic was presented by Oksana Kukuruz, Doctor of Political Sciences, which will be implemented by the Sector of Legal Problems of Political Institutions and Processes of the Department of Constitutional and Municipal Law. As the speakers noted, the main goal of the study is to ensure the national security of Ukraine in the face of modern challenges.

The members of the Academic Council recommended the manuscripts for publication «Current issues of financial and legal support of public administration in the context of European integration»: a scientific report of the department of public administration and administrative law problems (based on the results of the implementation of the scientific research topic «Organizational and legal support of public administration in the context of European integration and other transformation processes in Ukraine») and the one-person monograph by Roman Terletsky «State and religion in Ukraine: from historical origins to the digital era».

The Academic Council adopted a number of decisions concerning the educational process of postgraduate students.
