Presentation of the English-language scientific book “KREMLIN’S GENOCIDES”

On May 18, the Institute of Journalism of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv hosted an event dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Genocide of the Crimean Tatar People. Within the framework of which, a presentation of the English-language scientific book “KREMLIN’S GENOCIDES” was held, dedicated to exposing the continuity of the Kremlin’s criminal policy — ​​from the Holodomor-genocide of 1932-1933 and the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people in 1944 to the modern aggression of Russia against Ukraine and the persecution of the Crimean Tatar people.

The editors of the scientific publication — Olexandr Skrypnyuk, Bohdan Futey and Olesya Stasyuk — presented the audience with a solid evidence base of the Kremlin's crimes, which is now available to the international reader.

The presentation was attended by representatives of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, legal scholars, historians, in particular Olexandr Skrypnyuk, Director of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine, Vice-President of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine; Volodymyr Serhiychuk, Head of the Department of History of World Ukrainians of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Professor; Olesya Stasyuk, Head of the National Association of Holodomor-Genocide Researchers, Viktoria Malko, Doctor of Historical Sciences; Pavlo Movchan, Public figure; Volodymyr Nakonechny, Head of the Podilskyi District State Administration and others.

During the event, the participants discussed the historical continuity of Russia's crimes against the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar peoples, the importance of international recognition of the deportation of the Crimean Tatars as an act of genocide. In particular, Olexandr Skrypnyuk, Director of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor, noted that now we are again at a historical turning point, where the struggle is for the very right to exist, for the right to live on our land. «This publication in English — is our signal to the world: Ukrainian science, like the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar peoples — are unbreakable in their pursuit of justice», — emphasized Olexandr Skrypnyuk.

The participants of the presentation emphasized that the publication «KREMLIN’S GENOCIDES» is intended to become a tool of Ukraine's international legal and informational struggle, as well as to convey to the world the truth about the crimes of the Soviet regime and modern Russia.
