On October 23, 2025, a meeting of the Academic Council of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was held.
The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the Academic Council, Director of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine Oleksandr Skrypnyuk.
The first item on the agenda was the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the V.M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine and the Public Union "Interstate Guild of Consulting Engineers". The agreement was signed by the Director of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine, Oleksandr Skrypnyuk, and by the President of the Public Union "Interstate Guild of Consulting Engineers" Oleksandr Nepomyaschiy. The document opens a new stage in the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of improving professional and scientific self-government in Ukraine, taking into account the process of European integration.
A scientific report was heard by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine, Judge of the UN International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (2011-2020) and (2020-2029) Markiyan Kulik on the topic "The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea and its Contribution to the Development of Modern International Law". Markiyan Kulyk donated the Collections of Basic Materials of the UN International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea to the Institute's scientific library.
The meeting considered a number of important issues of the Institute's activities. In particular, the progress of the project "Conceptual Principles of Law-Making in Ukraine: Resource Provision, Innovations and Risks" was discussed. Reports on this topic were made by: Nataliya Onishchenko, Deputy Director of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine; Tetyana Tarakhovych, Senior Researcher of the Department of Theory of State and Law, Candidate of Law; Angelika Krusyan, Scientific Secretary of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Acting Head of the Department of Constitutional and Municipal Law;Vyacheslav Oleshchenko, Senior Researcher of the Department of Agrarian, Land, Environmental and Space Law, Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine; Yana Simutina, Leading Researcher of the Department of Civil and Legal Sciences, Doctor of Law, Professor; Zoya Zagynei-Zabolotenko, Head of the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology, Doctor of Law, Professor; Galyna Trunova, Senior Researcher, Department of Civil and Legal Sciences, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor.
The attendees heard a report by the scientific secretary of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine Angelika Krusyan on the results of the next certification of postgraduate students of the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine.
A new version of the Regulations on the Council of Young Scientists of the V.M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the NAS of Ukraine was also discussed and approved.
The Academic Council recommended for publication the monograph: Oliynyk S.Yu. «Transformation of the Social State in the Face of Pandemic Challenges: Political and Legal Aspects» ; Sokalska O.V.. «Evolution of penitentiary systems in the context of the development of ideas of corrective punishment (XVI — first half of the 19th century)»; Samoylenko O.O. «Legal life on the territory of Dnieper Ukraine in the imperial era: power, reforms, people».
